Honda Unicorn
After much research, asking around, and a few prayers I finally bought a motorbike. I narrowed in down to two bikes: the Bajaj Pulsar 180 and the Honda Unicorn. I had almost decided to buy the Pulsar, but after 4 trips to the showroom and no bike to test drive I got fed up. Each time I went the salesman told me he had a shipment coming in the next day and I could test drive one. Finally I got the idea that they were just tell me what they thought I wanted to hear. The Pulsar had a little bit bigger engine, but because of the poor service and the high respect I have for Honda products; I opted for the Unicorn. It’s a 150cc engine (13.5 hp) with a reputation for having a smooth ride and great gas mileage…oh yeah, it’s cool looking too. Now all I have to do is to get it modified for off-road use. I praise the Lord for His provision with this bike and thank you for giving. Now I ask that you to pray for two more things: pray that I can pass my motorcycle license test and pray that God protects me on the roads in Nepal.
I spent much of the day working on getting a student visa. After today I am beginning to see more clearly the way things work here in Nepal- tons of red tape, pointless procedures, endless waiting, and corruption. Please make my visa a matter of prayer. My current visa runs out in 25 days and I need a new one soon.
Language is going well I have gotten lots of ground work done. I am now at the point where I need to memorize about a million words so that I can begin having conversations. I am still far from doing anything productive in this language, but at least I can do some of the basics. God is good. He shows me that truth everyday.
