Thailand
I am sitting here in a coffee shop in Chang Mai, Thailand writing you of my adventures. Yesterday Shyam and I flew through Bangkok to Chang Mai for a conference of theological education. There are two main reasons I am here at the conference. One is to learn more about this school so that I can finish my masters degree and the second reason is to hopefully bring this seminary’s extention program to Kathmandu. Pray that God opens the doors for both of these things to happen.
My plan was to spend 4 days here at the conference and then to fly to southern Thailand for a vacation, but I now know God has other plans. While flying to Thailand I was listen to a sermon by John Piper called “Doing missions when dying is gain”. God really convicted me about my desire to “relax” on the beach. I realized that if I truly belive what? I have been preaching for years then I need to use this chance to do something radical for God. So on Saturday I am going to load up a backpack full of Bibles and tracks and head to the Golden Triangle of Thailand. The Golden Triangle is a place where Thailand, Burma, and Laos all meet. This area has a very high concentration of unreached people groups and is very hostile to the Gospel. PRAY! I feel lead to make this trip and I am begging my prayer supporters to ask God to use me. Ask Him to use this trip to save souls and do great things for the kingdom. We must all remember that suffering is not just a result of doing missions, but the very? means of it . Remember that God is sovereign and that all He does is good.
