BOOOOM!

Today brought with it two new experiences. First of all I took Tonya and Leah to the leprosy colony, but since there is a strike we were walking all the way there- about an hour and a half. As we were walking we saw some buses running so we hailed one and jumped aboard. Kind of exciting knowing that this was my first ride in an infamous Nepali bus. The second event happened just a few moments ago. I was writing some email and then I heard a big BOOM! I know that there are bombs set of on occasion, but this is the first time I have ever heard one. I have no idea if it was set off by the Maoist, but I have a good feeling it was. With all that in mind, remember to praise God today for the place He has you now. No matter the location or the danger, being under His sovereignty brings such comfort. He alone is God.”For behold,

He who forms mountains,
And creates the wind,
Who declares to man what his thought is,
And makes the morning darkness,
Who treads the high places of the earth?
The Lord God of hosts is His name.”
Amos 4:13

me and my puppy copyHere is the long awaited beauty. After much thought and discuss I decided to name my dalmatian “asha” which in Nepali means hope. What a better companion to have than hope.

This week the Maoists have called for a week long strike. That means that no cars are allowed on the road and that most everything closes. Please pray for Nepal this week. The national elections are Wednesday and there is a country wide resisitance to the way the govermant has set these up. I have no idea what will happen, but we are safe and in the Lord’s hands (what a great place to be).
