Good Evening from the Kingdom of Nepal. Today was more of a laid back day for me and Dave. I woke up around 7am and read some in the book I have been reading, “On Golden Shore” the story of Adoniram Judson. After that I read the Bible and wrote some much needed emails. The shower has been cold, fridged actually, for the last couple of days so I skipped my shower this morning and hope to get a warm one today. Around 11am or so I headed up to the roof to install my new washing machine. Most of my appliances here are very different from those in American and this one is no exception. After a long struggle Daniel finally triumphed over the machine.

With some daily duties done Dave, Daniel, Chrissy, Harry, and I headed out to lunch near the palace. On our way back Home I took the group to a local Tibetian refuge can to do some shopping. One of the things I want for my house is a handmade rug to go on my living room floor. As I began bargaining with one of the ladys in a local store she gave me a starting price on a nice rug. I counter offer with a price that was a tad low, but not far from what I wanted to spent. Her response was a fit of laughter and a smart remake. As dave and I left the store she followed us letting the other shop keepers how “crazy” I was. Needless to say I didn’t get a rug today.

As we shopped around we walked into a nice little shop that sold handmade crafts. I was looking at canvas prints with different people and landscapes on them. One of the shop keepers asked me if I was looking for Hindu? gods. I told her no and that I was a Christian. She then showed me a print of the word “Jesus” painted inside a fish. She said a local man paints them but she didn’t know what the fish meant. I told her the story of? persecution and belivers drawing the fish in the sand to identify each other. As I walked? away I heard her telling? her co-workers the story. Praise God! May she see hope in my faith.

All is well here and I promise to keep you posted, just make sure you? return the favor.?
